This presentation focuses on the collaborative work of an Art Therapist and Music Therapist in supporting connection and building new narratives with bereaved families of pediatric oncology patients, as well as recommendations for future co-treatment interventions for end of life and follow up bereavement support.
Alexis Lombardo
Alexis A. Lombardo, MA, ATR-BC, is a board-certified art therapist and valedictorian graduate of Marywood University. Serving as a clinical art therapist with Penn State Health, her role is supported by the Children’s Miracle Network. She specializes in designing creative, digital-hybrid projects to keep isolated pediatric and adult patients connected in hospital settings. Her therapeutic approach focuses on the artmaking process to foster resilience and provide emotional outlets during medical treatment.
Christina A. Myers
Christina has a love of working with people and helping them engage in ways to find deeper meaning and live their best life. She has 10+ years of experience with children and their families. She advocates for teaching self regulation through music and play based experiences. She also has expertise in writing grants, reports, community outreach and education.
