Durante la sesión aprenderán las diferentes maneras de unificar el Arte Terapia con el modelo de Terapia Cognitiva Conductual Focalizada en Trauma Infantil (TFCBT) y cómo adaptarlo al trabajo con inmigrantes Latinos de la Tercera Edad. Los ejercicios artísticos facilitarán la inspiración creativa de los asistentes para el desarrollo de directivas adaptables a pacientes con diversas habilidades creativas.
During this session you will learn different ways of unifying Art Therapy with Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and how to adapt it to work with older Latino immigrants. The artistic exercises will facilitate attendees’ creative inspiration for the development of adaptive directives for clients of diverse creative abilities.

- Los participantes asimilarán los conceptos básicos de la Terapia Cognitiva Conductual Focalizada en Trauma (TFCBT) y cómo transformarlos en directivas de Arte Terapia.
- Los participantes aprenderán la importancia de la psico-educación en el trabajo con inmigrantes de la Tercera Edad y cómo lograrla de manera creativa.
- Los participantes explorarán las diferentes consideraciones a tener sobre materiales de arte y su uso apropiado según la edad, habilidad y cultura de sus clientes.
What will You Learn?
- Participants will understand basic concepts of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and how to transform them into art therapy directives.
- Participants will learn the importance of psycho-education in working with older immigrants and how to do so in a creative manner.
- Participants will explore different considerations for different art materials and the appropriate use based on clients’ age, ability, and culture.

Nadia founded Nadia Paredes - Creative Studio, a bilingual resource for empowering, healing, and artistic inspiration. With expertise and training as an Art Therapist, Intuition Painting Facilitator, and Licensed Martial and Family Therapist, she creates programs for transformation, creativity, and art-making as a mindfulness practice. Nadia also works in corporate wellness as a speaker and workshop facilitator and is an Adjunct Professor and Art Therapy Supervisor at Loyola Marymount University.
