N/NY-GE-130 - The Use of the Face Stimulus Assessment with an Early-Stage Dementia Diagnosis

The presentation will cover a master's level research study conducted at a hospital system in a large Midwestern city on the use of the Face Stimulus Assessment (FSA) with older adults diagnosed with early-stage dementia.

Objectives: 

1. State why the FSA was used with an early-stage dementia diagnosis

2. Identify the elements of the FEATS used for the FSA

3. State graphic indicators that may be present in an FSA administered to older adults with an early-stage dementia diagnosis

Ashleigh Mower is an experienced Youth Crisis Counselor and Art Therapist with a demonstrated history of working in the mental health care industry. She has extensive experience in hospital and hospice care settings, facilitating bereavement groups, and providing crisis intervention within youth STRTPs. Ashleigh earned a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from the Herron School of Art + Design in 2020.
