Description
This course discusses a combining of Rhyne's Gestalt art therapy approach with Hellinger's family constellations, to enhance cognitive and emotional awareness of addictive patterns' origins. Transpersonal aspects of Hellinger's theory of the "Orders of Love" are made visible and concrete in clay for verbal processing and abreaction.

- Understand about the effectiveness of the transpersonal family systems theories of Bert Hellinger, PhD.
- Comprehend Gestalt approaches to safely engage clients in potential space to connect with past emotions.
- Learn how art's activation of the sensory-haptic brain functions are helpful in treatment of addiction and trauma.

Patricia Quinn, MS, LCAT, CASAC, ATR-BC, is an artist and therapist who has offered art therapy privately and in health and educational settings for the elderly, autistic and emotionally challenged, visually handicapped, homeless, and people with addictions and their families. She also serves as an adjunct professor at the College of New Rochelle’s Master’s of Art Therapy/Counseling program, and as adjunct professor at Westchester Community College, where she teaches an undergraduate course on Art Therapy. She has administrated agency programs, and lectures frequently on the field of art therapy.
