This 3-part CEU series on Supervision, featuring Dr. David E. Gussak, PhD, ATR-BC, HLM, Andrea Davis LPC-AT-S, ATR-BC, ATCS, and Dr. Bani Malhotra PhD, ATR-BC. Drawing upon theoretical perspectives, clinical viewpoints, and personal experiences, these sessions on Art Therapy Supervision will be presented through dynamic dialogue and informal interchange, between the presenters and with the participants.
SESSION 1: Collaborative Essentials - Establishing and Fostering a Dynamic Supervisory Experience
In this first session, facilitator Dr. David Gussak will provide a comprehensive overview of the professional, ethical, and interpersonal considerations when establishing, developing, and maintaining a supervisory relationship to best cultivate the burgeoning identity of the developing art therapist.
SESSION 2: Synergistic Consultation - Fostering Collaborative Relationships with Current Supervisors and Mentors
In this second session, Dr. David Gussak and Andrea Davis will discuss the benefits of establishing approaches and strategies to support and nurture existing art therapy clinical supervisors, and various methods and processes to foster this all-important collaboration.
SESSION 3: Harmonizing Perspectives - Fostering and Nourishing an Inclusive Mentoring Dynamic in Art Therapy
In this third session, Dr. David Gussak and Dr. Bani Malhotra will draw upon their past collaborations to discuss the differences between supervision and mentoring while clarifying the particular value and benefits of a co-evolving mentoring dynamic. The potential challenges and opportunities of a mentoring relationship between people of different cultural identities will be further explored.
Each 2-hour virtual session can be purchased individually or as a 6-hour bundle.
